Brown pistils but no buds. When to Harvest my first grow?

hi there, i am on my first grow, and i have no idea when to harvest. some of the pistils have already started turning brown, but the flowers have not started turning into buds?

100w cfl, and two standard house cfls on the side

Wassup. Ur first grow looks a lot better than mine lol. It looks like u have a ways to go imo. If I were u I'd grab a couple more 23w cfls and put toward the middle and bottom. It would help yield at least. Checkin trichs is the best way to tell when to harvest. I use a 60x jewelers loupe. I got mine on eBay for 5 bucks. The more clear the trichs the more head high; the more amber the More couchlock. Most shoot for 50/50 cloudy to amber. the trichs will go from clear, to cloudy, to amber. Too much amber ruins potency in my opinion. I hope this helps ya. Nothin like smokin bud u grew. Greatest feeling in the world

Your going to need it to know when to harvest. pistol color is no an accurate reflection of bud maturity.

Also you guys need to remember that by using such a small amount of wattage the flowering time is going to be longer then the advertised flowering time.

That is very true. I'd say all the breeders use 1000s or 600s right bro? And why does this cannabis guru always pop up and be a total ass to newbs. This guy like 12?

Listen man just so you have a really good idea...the "bud that you buy from your dealer" is hiding under the pistils and sugar leaves and what not. All that stuff gets trimmed off and the actual buds are under it. The plant itself will never look like the buds you get from the dealer without all the triming and drying and curing.

Yea man after harvest and trim it'll look like buds and lol pistils are NOT the bud legallyflying. The calyx from which the pistils come from r the bud. Damn ppl try to crack jokes and don't even kno theirself. I aint a pro but kno better than that

at the risk of being told I am 12... you need a decent HID ligh dude. If your going to take the time to grow weed, at least grow it right with proper amounts of light. That plant looks pretty sativa to me, and they like LOTS of light. Plus you see how stretchy it is with those long space between the nodes? That is because your using light bulbs designed to illuminate your bathroom, not grow plants.

I mean whatever, its cool, your growing your own weed, but if you walked up to me on the street and said "whats the problem with my weed" I would tell you.."dude, get some wattage on that thing".

Especially when the CFL's are 10 feet away from the plant!

those buds actually look pretty substantial considering it's only CFL's and they're not that powerful either

ok first of all your about week 7 of 10 of flowering. the last three weeks they will really fatten up. try giving a tspn of molasses or syrup into a two liter bottle of water and water with that. it will benefit alot. the first time i used syrup water my buds doubled in size in three days. but remember the last 3 or 4 weeks they will really put on the fatness be patient. go get a microscope or a high powered magnifying glass and watch the trichs in two weeks. you want 50/milky 50/ amber. right now they are clear and premature.

sorry bro that comment was for "cannabisguru", not u. Re-read the post man. I do apologize for the way I corrected u bout the pistils tho, just been a rough day. I seen ur sig and understood y u mistaken that post. I agree whole heartedly bout the lights tho. I would rather have at least a 150 hps in there if there's a tight budget instead of cfl.
