Brown Spots on leaves. Help?

Hey folks,

For about a week now I`ve been noticing these ugly brown spots on some of the leaves of 2 neighbouring plants, I have 6 plants in total and only 2 seem to bee affected and it seems as it started on one and spread onto the other - and they are different strains if that matters. I dont really see any insects other than fungus gnats(arrgh!) Any idea of what that might be? I use mineral water with full strength BioBizz Bloom 2-6-3.5 every 2-3 days. Any useful input appreciated.

You cant run biobizz bloom on its own if thats what you are doing, need the grow or fish mix to supplement the other nutes. Probably is cal and few other deficient but thats what the biobiz grow or fish mix is good for. If you were to futher add the topmax i reckon youd have even worse problems.

Is this the case here?
 
Thx 0calli, I have this chart and many others but I havent found anything that would convince me that it is the problem that I have. I have used Bloom only on my previous grow and it was all good, I also used the same mineral water I am using now.

Hey man, I thought these were bites too at first but I thoroughly checked the plants and didnt see any insects. Is it in any way possible that fungus gnats actually laid eggs on the leaves and the larvae damaged them? I do have a bad gnat problem on this grow. You think its good idea to remove the affected leaves and see if the problem reappears?
 
you are also how far into flowering? I see frostiness behind those leaves on the buds ;) Fan leaves can start developing deficiencies later on in flowering regardless of what you throw at it for nutrients because the plant doesn't give a shit about them anymore and is directing energy towards the flowers to perpetuate its life...I wouldn't worry about it if you are only a few weeks out from harvest ;)
 
what if ur 5 weeks into 12/12 it wouldnt matter

Hey, I`m only about 4 weeks in since the switch, maybe 30 days at the most(cant remember exactly lol) so I think they`re only about hafway through at best.

Wow because if i just use my bloom my plants get like yours and only gets worse as plant matures. Even Biobizz themselves state the grow is needed to supplement the bloom for the entire flowering period. The bloom alone is not a complete fert hence your deficiencies or else theres somthing im missing in using biobizz all these years with great results.

Simply put if you have used just bloom for 5 weeks then this is your problem, TOO much P/K in the root zone, i cant make a real healthy plant with just the bloom and oldtimer and others document this in certain sites and threads of which i cannot link outside Rollitup unfortunatly. Find them and read them because they struggled for years before they finally got the ratios of grow and bloom right.

If you look at it another way the grow is very weak on P/K and often the bloom can be used in small amounts in the veg period. Not insect damage that i know of and fungus gnats dont harm leaves rather the roots. The fungus gnat fly dose not ever feed and lays its larvae in the soil. Thrips lay their larvae in the leaf i think.

Disreguard my advice, biobizz'z advice and many established biobizz growers advice at your own risk, grow is needed with bloom in the flowering period.

Only few random leaves on those 2 plants are affected.

BeefSteak, I don`t disregard anybodys advice right away. I do research myself, ask for peoples advice here and then make a decision based on all the information I have gathered. From what I have seen so far you claim that my plants are "Biobizz Grow" deficient. Is that what you`re saying? No offense but thats about as useful as somebody coming here and saying "its probably some sort of deficiency".

Thats what i do but for many years now, it dosent matter wether you take my advice or not as we take in all advice and replicate what works and best considerations. If my tone is straight forward i do apologise but i merely like to keep things brief and straight to the point, really i am a nice guy.

No not biobizz grow deficient just whatever the bloom is imbalancing. Fair enough this is Rollitup and post that spots on leaves question and you'll get a million and one answers. I doubt many will be the same as mine.

No offense but thats about as useful as somebody coming here and saying "its probably some sort of deficiency".

O.K. Heres the usefull bit and i'm keeping it simple as you can go away and research it yourself.

1.) Those BROWN spots on your leaves or to be more PRESCISE - on and around the leaf veins! are where the plant stores some of the more important nutrients it uses so when deficincy strikes with those particular nutrients the plant draws them from the leaf, it just so happens that as i have detailed these particular nutrients anr mainly stored along the leaf veins and hence what you are seeing.

2.) It is well documented and known that excess P/K on its own plays hell with just about every other nutrient when in excess, to me biobizz bloom seems more like a bloom booster than a complete flowering fert. Biobizz is sold as a two part feed i.e. grow and bloom with the idea that you raise the levels of P/K over N for flowering, the idea of discontinuing the grow for flowering is absurd if you consider the lovely trace elements the grow contains.

Put the grow and bloom together and you get a complete pretty even NPK level, for veg give more grow than bloom and visa versa for flowering, its not recomended to use just one for veg and one for flowering, give them a call and find out for sure. I use some bloom for the veg period as the grow is a little high in N and plants can get a little too overly dark green. You need to balancde out all 15/16 nutrients that the plant needs, biobizz just provides two seperate bottles i.e. grow/bloom which when mixed together do just this. Info on Biobizz on this site is crappy really, take it from a long term biobizz grower who has already tried to use just the grow for veg and bloom for flowering and got minimal results over both together in the right ratios. Good luck whatever you do but at this stage not much can really be done before harvest realistically.

Yer thats what the grow contains a lot of hence what im saying.

That chart is whack when you take into consideration the balancing act of ammoniacal and nitrate nitrogen verses the acidic and alkaline elements Phosphporous and Potassium which generally balance against each other as seen in products like PK13/14 because of the very fact that one is acidic and one is alkaline. Ph info on this site can be very limited and crappy at times too!lol!
 
As soon as your lights come on go into the room and look for water spots.sometimes moisture over night will form on the leaves. if you have a drop of water on the leaves then the HID lights will burn a hole in the leaf and leave a spot his will turn brown. it also opens the door for other problems. think of it as burning it with a magnifying glass.

Hey, thx for the suggestion but thats definitely not droplets+HID
