Bud Rot Question

I stuck one lowryder outside and never checked on it until today when i went to harvest it. We've had quite a bit of rain so i didnt feel like i needed to. So i get out there and notice brown mushy buds, white moldy buds and just a beat up plant. So my question is how careful do i need to be when i bring back the salvaged dope back to my house considering i have a big indoor grow going. Also, is the bud safe to smoke as long as i remove the infected areas that i can see? I would usually hang them to dry in my closet but im worried about mold spores reaching my garden. Ill porbably just use a pizza box. Any insight would be great. thanks.

If you have a big indoor grow going why bother with it ? but you can still take off the best bits and smoke, id still dry it somewhere else than run any risks, it could also be carrying anything, bugs etc, why put your indoor at risk for a smoke, hasn't the one outside done enough trouble.
