Buy a book or read online?

I'm going to be doing my first grow and was wondering if I should buy a growing book or just stick to the info that's available online?

Online is free but you have to sift through alot of bullshit to find good info. Books probably similar, I doubt everything in a book is 100% accurate. Either way learn the basics and experiment for yourself. What works for one person may not work for you. Hope this helps.

Both I have several books and numerous sites bookmarked. That I have read.

when i first got interested in growing cannabis, i read tons of books on the subject, but that was also in a time when the internet was not what it is today..
if you're just starting out, i'd suggest joining a few canna related forums, finding the people who have been there for some time and have a few online grows that you can follow and see for yourself if they know what they're talking about or if they're full of bs.. find these people and follow their grow journals, see how they approach things and how they handle obstacles they might come across during a grow..
don't just follow anyone one person, and don't take anything as gospel, no matter how experienced the person saying w/e it is may be..

I would still get Ed Rosenthal's Marijuana growers handbook!
SOO much info in there..

I own just about every book ever written on cannabis growing, (over 200), and many are filled with misinformation, as are online sources. It has taken me several years to sift thru all the myth and general bs. I've gotten the best info from this forum from guys like Dr. Who and others that I trust. There are some on here that give false info just to trip you up, and others that know nothing and want to come across as "experts".

Every growing method needs to be treated differently and no matter who you talk to, or what book you read youll never get the whole story as to what works best because every situation is different. Also what works best for hydro sea of green wont work for outdoor 100 gallon pots. Trial and error is the best teacher, you just have to be willing to learn from your mistakes and just willing to learn in general. The masses are usually right so dont plan on reinventing the wheel after one or two grows.

The most important thing with growing is also the most expensive and often forgotten step. Climate. That is the most crucial part of your endeavor besides genetics. With all the banter online and in books, im surprised theres not more emphasis put on climate since it makes or breaks the grow. Its the root of everything and if you dont have good climate control, even without bugs, and with good fertilization practice, youll still produce larfy b grade bud.
