cabinet

im planning on growing a small indica in my closet inside of a small cabinet (i want it 1 to 1.5 foot size max). i want to keep the plant short so should i
1. trim it
or
2. tie it down.

also, is a fan necessary? (i plan on keeping a fan on for a a few weeks so the plant can get strong but dont want to for the flowering phase because i dont want to smell up my house because my family isnt going to know about this)

ps. is there any sites that are recommended to order seeds from?

get a short low odor strain like NL.

you will need to give the plant fresh air throughout your grow , and its a BIG no no no no to growing in your famillys house without permission .

yea you need the fan makes the plant stronger and brings the fresh air in.. and if you can keep your mouth shut about your plant then your family wont find out... Just don't tell anyone about it and they wont know

The closet isn't very hidden and you won't be able to control the temperature even with enough light for a 1' tall plant to flower. That takes 10k lumens for 1 sq foot if you wanted to actually get bud off it.

Why not just go get some old big speaker at goodwill or on craigslist and pretend you are building a sub or whatever out of it. Nobody will look inside it if you do it right.

lol i have 2 speakers like that.. thats where im going to grow my clones whenever i decide to.. and the closet does work but you have to look into some designs to help you out and give you some ideas..

yeah its a 4 x 4 ft closet. the handle to the door has a lock on it. my parents think its because i dont want my brothers stealing my clothes and my parents have not seen the inside of the closet in months. and inside the closet is a 1 x 3 x 3 cabinet. i plan on growing in there. and keeping the door of the cabinet slightly open so it can get circulation from the fan.

ps. im planning on using a CFL (to reduce overheating in the closet and reduce fire risk) on a regular desk lamp which i beleive should work from video's ive seen. im gonna foil up the inside of the cabinet or paint it white (even though its white already from inside)

Not that I'm advocating growing in your parent's house, but if you are going to do it, you should do it properly. Plants need fresh air to grow well, so you should think about a way to get air in and out.

At the most basic level, a fan at the top extracting hot, CO2 depleted air, and a hole at the bottom to allow fresh air in, will suffice.

Since you have much need for stealth, you should also fit a small diy carbon filter to the extraction fan to remove odours. For this to work, a relatively powerful fan will be needed.

Also, I agree with the others that one CFL will not be enough, and as for the tin foil, don't bother. Stick with the white paint.

One CFL can be plenty for one plant, you just have to get the right wattage.

I was talking about standard household cfls, but I see your point. I'll try to be more careful with how I word things, since I hate bad advice, and wouldn't want to knowingly give any.

Personally though, i'd be tempted to go for a small HPS, rather than a large CFL.

Do your self a favour mate get some autoflowering strains these grow realy small ak47 or something like that yes you will need a fan air movement is one of the main things in haveing a nice grow.Look in the fishkeeping section on youtube you can make a nice little co2 unit for the cost of sugar and yeast and people will say its a waste of time in a small grow it make's all the differance.just get plenty of the plug in smelly things glade ones if your from the uk.I veg my plant till they are a foot so your not gonna get a great deal of a plant flowered at this size.Go for the autoflowering ones trust me they don't get much bigger than that if at all and are a lovely smoke only prob is you can't clone this strain so its buy 5 seeds and do them 1 at a time get rid of one to a pal to buy your next 5/10.I don't condune drug dealing i'm a smoker and a lover of weed i don't do this shit for money i do it so i don't have to put money in peoples pockets who grow shit but if it keeps your grow going go for it but be careful bro.
