Can you start your seedlings in flower area?

Can my seedlings spend the first 10 days under 12/12 or is it a must to get them their own space to run 18/6 or 24/0? Not worried about slowing growth. I just don't want to wreck my next grow.

I wired up a fixture with two 40w 24" U-bends last night. I am having trouble finding a place to put it and be able to keep the cats out while preventing light leaks in the flower area. I only need to do this for about 10 days to 2 weeks tops. They are literally seedlings right now with only 2 or 4 tiny leaves in party cups. They have been in with my flowering plants for the last three days.

Figured I would ask before going through the trouble of rigging up a temporary space.

well, my advice?? if your going to have them under 12/12 lighting for 10 days.. you might as well leave it at 12/12.

changing the light cycle after 10 days like that.. especially on young plants.. will probably cause you problems.

Not saying that it will for sure cause you problems.. but more than likely it could and will cause your plants problems.

I would suggest sticking with a veg schedule of 18/6. Then, whenever your ready to flower them.. switch them over to 12/12.

Now, if your wanting to flower the plants from seed.. you should just keep the lights at 12/12 from seed.. all the way until harvest time.

Hope I answered your question..

peace.

I might try and switch them out and come up with a temp space. These are all Nirvana seeds being grown in soil. I don't want to have a shitty grow with all 12/12.
