Can you use PAR readings too...

Determine the best grow/flowering height for an LED light? Or would you adjust the height according to how the plants are growing?

Much lower than the makers claims.. lol been there done that, good luck
LED the big lie ! a 90 watt UFO = a 400 hm/hps bullshit x2, you can grow with leds if you just want one little plant for yourself or your rich and stupid and buy enough of them and don't over water.
LED save money ? my ass ! Sorry but after 2000 dollars I feel the need to call shit SHIT.

LED works just fine.. just take a look the LED board (this board you're ranting in right now).

I don't think the LEDs are your problem.

Both if you have the equipment. Having some of measurement capability combined with your senses, can't be all bad.

PICOGRAV's Vero29 grow pops into my mind. Lie's? Quite the opposite, the HID killer. There is a reason dinosaurs are from the past.

And you are using an example "UFO" which has no statistical correlation. There are so many knock-off's and variations of that light, literally the 1st "commercial" mass produced led fixture. But that was 5 years ago, lol, where yah been?

Plan on getting a PAR meter soon, I am kind of a tech geeky guy and would not mind seeing the real readings put out and trying to gain the optimum height. Got nothing to lose really, only knowledge to gain.

Here's Chaz's thread on here all about the indagro system and other important lighting info.
https://www.rollitup.org/led-other-lighting/722947-measuring-plant-lighting.html

A par meter is great and will show you right where to hang it. It will allow you to compare lights and show you actual coverage capabilities.

Companies can hide things with their advertised par, it's usually only one number. But when you actually have the par meter and can see more than just the center reading, it makes things really clear what is going to happen...not matter what type of lighting.

History has made us think of a hps wattage and then associate it with a yield and coverage result. But the fact behind it is that there is more photons with the increased wattage. While with led's and other efficient lighting we can increase photons output without the same correlation to wattage. Par meters and reading are what show us this.

That's a bummer you got fell for a shitty led, but sounds like a personal problem(uneducated decisions). Plus 5 years ago was a long time, and really long in LED technology progression time. I am assuming it has been basically that 5 yrs since you tried them, so it's hard to take you seriously. Your location is "fuck led", you're just trolling now...go waste energy in some other section.
