Are they gnawing? Are there way too many for you to pick them off? I've always heard that you can smoosh a bunch of any pest up in a blender, add a little dish soap? (I think)
and spray the plant . . . kills the living . . . something to do w/disease from the dead, rotting, shredded corpses!
It also, allegedly, deters any return. I'd probably spray it off after the storm.

just on the leaves a little... havent noticed any damage to the buds.

gotta hand pick em off the buds by hand. best way to see em is to look for pistles that are missing from your buds or chewed leaves and look for em in top of bud(borers). then pinch their little heads off.

I m having the same problem. careful cuz they get inbetween ur buds and eat them from the inside.
