...choose a feed different breeders and check their website for any catalogues to download...

...usually they have picks and average specs to each strain they sell...

...start with greenhouse seeds catalog, and dinafem catalog I remember reading up on what you are asking...

Well, CBD's are broken down cannabinoids. The same as CBN's. They are broken down forms of THC. These are considered less desirable compounds because of the "down and out" effect they give. However, many growers (and users) prefer the mellow and down feel. So, they allow the plants to break down the thc in order to create more CBD and CBN. The general rule is this: clear-THC, cloudy-CBD, amber-CBN. This refers to the individual trichrome color and what compound is primarily present. The best way to do what you want is to get a high thc strain and grow it out a little longer. Now before I get flamed for saying that the trichrome appearance dictates the thc/CBD/CBN percentage, allow me to be preemptive. Some strains naturally produce more CBD/CBN BEFORE the trichromes erect. It is believed that indica varities produce less thc and more CBD/CBN than a sativa. So, my advise stands- buy a high thc producer and let it go a little longer. May not be what you want to hear, but time is relevant.

sketchbomb has the right idea, if you prefer a down high you can allow your plants an extra week of flower allowing your tricomes to mostly become amber. but recently medical strains are being produced for your exact situation. some people prefer to medicate with cbn and cbd i know cannatonic is a strain bread for that very purpose with almost equal cbd to thc ratio. as for other strains, breading for cbd is still realitivly new, i would recommend buying seeds from medical growers who grow for people with pain specific ailments. easier said than done i know but the west coast is full of freindly pot heads see if you can make a few new friends.

I don't know if it's the cbd's or what, but I'm setting aside some blue hash in part for this very reason. It wrecks me, it's a high similar to cough syrup, you kind of snap out of it 4-5 hours later and think what just happened. It's gonna be my back pain or migraine type medicine when all else fails. Crit+ seems good for insomnia, white widow I don't know what that's good for other then invoking paranoia.
