i have 5 of those in my bathroom already. no reason to think they're different than what's good to grow with right?

Yeah, they are CFL's, they grow ok but not nearas well as any HID lights. But CFL's dont produce as much heat. So what you wonna do is figure out how many watts them bulbs are. And CFL's come in a 120 watt size. So your question makes no sense. https://www.rollitup.org/cfl-growing/52058-ice-plant-pics.html. Here is a thread that a fellow RIU member has made. He is growing the ICE strain with CFL's and is getting great results. Please see for yourself.

i guess i don't understand light and spectrum.
i have 3 120wt grow lights....they're not CFL, theyr'e standard Lowe's gro-lights. is the 120wt for the bulb=120wt for any other bulb? if so, then why use CFL in lieu of what i have now.

i'm sorry, but i have a hard time underttanding the technical aspects of "light" and spectrum as well as intensity. i always appreciate help

Ok, just use all the lights you have. More light the better. Can we get pics of your grow lights? If not, do you know what kind of light they are?

Just use all of them if u can. That is all I can say, we really have no idea of what type of light u have as far as wats and spectrum unlesss you tell us, and if you don't know...

Damn it!!

bro..I hear you.

Im learning about CFL to.. they are new to me...BUT like you , I too have them all over the fucking house. I didn't know these could be use for growing.

They are all over your crib because these are what most people buy now adays. They are those spiral energy saving lights. the back of one said it's equal to a 60 watt white bulb..but this CFL only produces 15 watts.

A 42 watt CFl can produced like 2000 lumans..apparently.. 3 of these on one plant should be nice...

hey and thanks for the ICE plants..and the CFL growing direction..

This site is HUGE! i've lost track of 2 pages i wanted to re-read..and i lost someones review of the SeemoreBuds grow 8 ounces for less that $100

if your growing with CFL some times the stronger ones aren't always the best

ie.

42w Warm White, 2,700k , 2,700 lumes
2700lumes / 42w = 64.28 lumes per watt

13w Warm Whire, 2,700k , 900 lumes
900 lumes / 13w = 69.23 lumes per watt

hey man.. since you here..

do you suggest a 13 watt CFl for the first stage? it's barley sprouting. like 3 inches tall.
I'm actuly using 8 13w for veg and 7 13w and a 42w for flowering and it seems like my plants are doing awsome

I used 1 13w Warm White bulb for my seedling and I use 2 13w CFL for each clone tray

PS - Hope that helps you out ^^

yes sir. thanks
np I'm glad that I was able to help , lol I gotta build my closet grow area cuz I have 407+ clones rooting, my friend and his gf keep complaning that I don't have any smoke ready to sell them so I did a big clone day, it took me 1 day to soak every Jiffy puck and them a day taking clones and I still have clones that I have to plant from last week I took

8 CFL....but you got more plants going... lets say i got 2 in a veggie stage..(like 3 inches tall)..

fuck it..lets say i have ONE. two or 3..13 wat CFL per plant?

and ...

OH..

how about Daylight vs. white bulbs, and the other types of CFL i been advised about.

what is widely avaliable...and what doy ou suggest for A plant that is barely starting out?
