Changed light cycle: Mistake?

Well, this is my first ever attempt at growing, and of course i did the requisite research before giving it a go, but now I've run accross what I'm afraid might be a problem. I planted 7/16, and I'm hoping to be able to harvest relatively soon. I opted to change the light cycle from 16/8 to 12/12 about 70 days after planting (approximately). Now I'm afraid that I may have done mmore harm than good. I am growing just two plants, and they seem to be in vastly different stages, despite being the same age. I'm posting pictures of each, and would really appreciate some feedback and/or advice. Thanks a lot for helping out a first-timer, I just don't want this to be a disappintment with no learning.

Well theres no buds so harvesting soon would not come into play yet. Looks to me like you need alot more lights...get at least 4 or 5 warm cfls if money is an issue.

I would continue on the 12/12, let them do their thing, most likely you'll just harvest one before the other but be sure two raise the smaller plant to the level of the other.

I think they look nice , maybe a little skinny. Do you have a fan on them? I think switching to 12/12 was a good idea. There aren't going to be buds yet because you have JUST started the flower stage.
