Cleaning a glass pipe.

O.K. so my roommate has a small glass pipe, about three inches long, and it's getting clogged with resin. He needs to clean it so i'm checking in on what is the best method. I told him to boil it in a small pot of water. Any ideas from you guys?

do not boil it
for a small piece like that, i take a ziplock and put enough isopropyl in it to submerge the piece. i add some coarse sea salt (any salt will probably suffice though) and then put the piece in. seal the bag, shake vigorously until desired level of cleanliness is achieved

Combine both approaches, heat some iso (add salt for abrasive), you're welcome.

o.k. no boiling. Now i need an excuse to go to the drug store and but some isopropyl. I ordered him another pipe... his is just so tiny. I almost catch my 'stache' on fire every time i take a hit from it.

look around and see if they sell the 91% stuff, works faster than the 70%, and usually costs very little more.

Warm water and a glass container that can hold at least a quart of water, add a small scoop of oxy clean.......watch it do it work mon!

i agree with earlier posts, i use alcohol and salt, some table salt and some kosher salt. i use a thick heavy zip lock bag and microwave the bag till its hot, shake. its clean quick with heat, it works at room temp but takes time to get totally clean. then rinse with hot water. dry. good.

Lol ISO and salt for the win, but I've used citra-solve with great results as well.

I bought some stuff about 5 years ago called "Gunk" or something like that. It was a gel you poured in the bong and let it set for awhile and then you pour it back into the original bottle. I reused it for quite a long time and it was effective but it was spendy, about 15 bucks for a pint. Haven't seen it around locally for some time.
