Clone lighting

This is my first grow. Looking at different options for clone lighting.

I could put them in the clone chamber and put them in the 4x4 tent and use the 400w bulb 24/7 and cool the tent. Seems like a lot for my first clones. The tent will be empty till clones are ready for veg.

So I was thinking of getting a heating pad and fluorescent bulbs in my closet just to start out. Can anyone recommend a small lighting fixture for fluorescents or do the small compact fluorescents work (the ones in the shape of a regular household bulb)?

I heard these were good.

i do have a bigger fluorescent lighting fixture I can put anywhere but it'd be a lot easier if the cfl's will do the trick.

If you've got a contractor friend, ask him for a couple 3 or 4 bulb bath fixtures, put splitters in them, and use the CFL's if you want, or go to goodwill or something and look for cheap used ones.
Even the new ones from Lowe's or Depot are not that expensive.

You can use just about anything with the clones. I used a 42w in one of those aluminum $10 clip on fixtures and worked fine.

This is why I use as well. Cheapo amazon tray/dome/heat mat combo and rapid rooters. 100% success rate.

clones don't need a lot of light. nor a heating pad. i keep these3' from a 350w floro

cfl's are fine. Try to get the blue spectrum witch is better for vegg. I use 2 4' t5 shop lights. works good.

I went to home depot, they have cheap fixtures. But the T5 lights look like only go to about 15watt per bulb there. So with 1 fixture id only be at 30 watts. So its either try to find higher bulbs with that fixture or use a normal CFL. Would the daylight ones work best? I read those have the most spectrum, these are the options at home depot

T5 lighting fixture (if I can find higher wattage bulbs):

Smaller CFL bulbs with higher watts:

Or should I get a normal grow CFL bulb for saving space reasons:

The 2nd pic of those cfls are what i use... just got a pack literally 2 days ago and put my clones under 2 of em. They work great for veg and imo, you cant really go wrong with those
