Clones Stunted Growth

Hey All,

I am just starting my 1st setup, and I got 6 clones from a dispensary about 2 weeks ago. I left them in the rockwool cubes and surrounded them with a-ok plugs to keep moisture. They are under a 600w hps with about 2 feet clearance with a 24 hour light cycle, have been fed mostly balanced water. When using a nutrient solution, they started getting yellow and seemed nutrient burned. Anyone know why these babies are so stunted, they seemed a bit premature and were just under flourecents with no source of humidity or moisture. Please Help!

what kind of nutes and how much did you give them, how big are they?

Your clones probably did get nute burn if you used a full strength solution of nutes, when starting your plants on nutes it is best IMO to start at no more than 1/4 strength and work your way up. I would also suggest again just my opinion watching the results from my grows, find that 18/6 is a good amount of light and dark. The babies need some down time just like people do to do their growing and resting. I know there are lots of theories about the light cycle but just try it for yourself if possible. Run one or two at 18/6 and the others at 24/0 and see which gives the better results for you. Always remember with the nutes, little bit is better than too much you can always add if your plants show the need but it is hard to undo a mistake of adding too much. Happy Growing

The nutes were called Supernatural Gro Aqua, and I only used a tiny amount even less than 1/4. The range of the babies is from 4.5 - 7 inches, most have 3 nodes and looked healthy when I got them. I will start keeping the light off for 6 hours a day, but should I make a gradual change? Also, would it even be worth saving these girls at this point or should I scrap them and try some more mature plants?

what is your NPK, temp, Hum, do you have air flow?

I don't know what NPK is, it's 75% humidity though and idle at about 80 degrees have inlines for exhaust from the light and intake with 2 mini fans inside the tent. The water's pH is always 5.5-6.0, and I will try to get some pics this week...

I think you should ditch the rockwool and put them right into a soiless mix, or bury the rockwool in the mix as well, Pro Mix or Sunshine mix are two very good ones but starting off with clones and keeping them in rockwool I think is a mistake and bound for trouble. The rockwool was to get them rooted and unless you have the experience with hydro I would stick with Soil and by Soil-less I mean one with no nutes added so you can use your own. Rockwool is not that great after you have rooted unless your planning on using more rockwool underneath with a flood and drain or drip feed system. Your better off planting right into a nice mix so they dont need to be watered as often and then transition into the hydro if you like, Good luck and before ditching the plants you have now just transplant into soil and see how easy it is

And that humidity is fine for veg but you want to drop it way down during flower below 40% or just at it to finish up, try the dirt its way more forgiving, hydro is cool and fast but not for beginners. Stay green

Thanks for the advice! The only reason I went hydro is because I bought a used setup which included everything. Originally we just added the extra rockwool is because the roots were not estabilshed yet. Haven't noticed much growth on the roots either, which is why I thought they were stunted to begin with.

Also, I have been manually watering them every other day they are not in any solution yet.
