Closet Grow, With DYI Floro Light

Hello folks. Im doing a closet grow with some seed from my last grow. gonna be using multiple CFLS and some floro tubes as well. a pic of my light rig below. ive started with it before and ran into heat issues so now i have a new exhaust system, to be installed in the next 24 hours sometime.

my plants are just popping through soil. so im going to call this day 0. i have about 14 started in peat pods. i plan on cutting these down to 6 fems at flower.

my room is about 8x6ft.

things are going smooth. slight delay on fan instalation, but i have almost everything for my carbon filter. so i cant get my light up untill monday, gonna have to make these few lights work untill then. thats also the reason im in cups not pots

the peat pellets i got from the hydro store are much better than the wallmart ones. almost all of the proper ones have sprouted, and had a good taproot outbefore i transplated. the walmart ones are still not quite sprouted.

You might want to run those wires in some wire loom in case they get snagged on something.

Don't let those peat pellets sit out for too long in the open air, as it dries to a crisp fast!!

the floro tubes are just taped, i dont plan on running them for a while. all the wires are taped, with clear tape. i would maybe run those wire tunnel things but its already built. i am gonna give it a facelift and fix anything that may be wrong before it goes up.

starting 4 more seeds. i have 10 looking good in cups, and one more sprouted in pod. still 4 unsprouted from first round.

work to my room is pretty much done. i have my exhaust fan in, just waiting for carbon filter to finish it. i have my light up and running currently with only 7 bulbs. 7 covers them fine. gonna up the bulbs when my filter gets here and i repot.

the 10 in cups are still moving right along, one in peat pod had some problems and bit it. i have more still in the little greenhouse, one is just poppin up.

temps are staying a little below 80 with lights on to 65 off. humidity varies around 45%.

also there is a shot of my herbs grow, proper type cookin herbs. the only sprouts so far is the thyme row.

i've finally gone fullscale. my exhaust is rockin, my carbon filter is on, temps are holding steady, 80 or so, with the door cracked and lights all blazing. ive yet to close the door and just let it go. i wanna make sure things are goin fine so far first. i may have to install some intake as well.

also my herbs are sprouting nicely

things are going good. at just over 3 weeks i have 12 healthy plants, pics below of all at one point or another. temps are good humidity is good. just watered today with first nuts, bat guano tea for them.

ill be fimming soon. comments advice questions welcome

fimmed 10 out of 12 tonight. the other 2 were at odd growth stages so im going to wait on them, or maybe leave a couple unfimmed.

Fuck HPS you can flower with what you have.Why waste the money.You'll get a little denser buds but thats about it.The nicest looking bud I've ever seen was flowered under CFL's

6 weeks in now. all my plants are doing good. i did remove one plant and stuck it outdoors, just to see how it grows. so now i have 11 plants all appear to be healthy. ive fed them a good bat guanno tea about a week ago. ill be feeding again soon i think.

i screwed almost all the fims up and it didnt work. oh well.

one of my plants is massive. im fairly sure its one of the 2 that that i started from a different set of seeds. gonna put some new pics up. you can see the giant in the middle.

If you can afford it, especially with your grow on that scale, I suggest to go with HPS. It would save electricity in the long run comparing it to it's watt/lumens ratio. What I am about to do is supplement the HPS light with a few CFL's for a little more spectrum to the mix.

i plan on switching to hps when i flower. trying to get the light now. should have it soon.

i was hoping to let the preflower before i switched to 12/12. but im ready to get the show on the road. ill probably switch as soon as i get my light. i think im gonna take some clones soon. as well. i tried to clone on my last grow and i failed. maybe i will get it right this time.

i got first fem preflower a few days ago. still no other signs. just tryin to keep everything under control atm. waitin for more sex to show.

Sohappy. on daily/semi-daily sex check ive id'd plants 5 6 9(i think) and 1 (from which i have the 2 clones from in rockwool) to be female, they are JUST poking the first pistol through the casing. as welll i did see a couple others that i suspect to be fem. time will tell.

that brings the total to 5/11 1 5 6 9 and C for now. one more and i reach my goal of six. one or 2 more and im lucky. 3 or more and i will conclude that my seeds from the selfed plant i had indeed produced fem seeds. one of the 11 is from another strain to. some sativa by the look of it. its the giant. so im half and half right now with no males!

still no major problems to speak of. maybe pics later. i gotta do some repots.

so now its 9 of 11 YAY....

i think i may have actually feminized those seeds after all :p 2 more still to show number 8 and number 4. 4 is kinda weak lookin plant. and as well im having problems with other stuff ill explain more on that later. and get some pics up. anyway im off to my brothers to celebrate :)
