Coco vs Clay pebbles

Hi after my last grow and been growing in coco for a fair few years now. Thought i might try a different medium.. I grow top drip style and was wondering about clay pebbles. Does anyone have experience with clay pebbles? What are the pros and cons?

Clay pebbles good for explosive fast growth, increased oxygen availability.BAD if you dont wash them first. They will raise the ppm and ph enough to kill. The dust will accumulate on everything it comes in contact with.You will have too wash the system if not the rocks first.Wash them more than you think you have to until the water going through comes out clear.
