cold air intake or outdoor exaust?

so im having slight problems keeping my growbox cool. i'm running aroud 400 watts of CFL (actual watts, 3x 105 watters and a few 42 watters) i have currently an 8" oscelating fan for circulation, 2 4 inch square passive intakes, and one 4 inch 12v PC fan intake.
then i have 2 105cfm 4" blowing thru DIY carbon filters, modified slightly to fit my dual fan setup.

the temps have been climing from about 77-80 in the morning-noon to about 87-90 come midday. to compensate i have been turning the baseboard heater OFF in the room around lunch, cracking the window and then opening the doors to my growcab untill the evening. the only problem is that now im at day 8 of flowering on my Kush and its starting to smell.
the carbon filters work great but only when the doors are tight aye.

so after a little more heat stress every day, for me and my babies...

i convinced my wife to let me run ONE 4inch duct (just to the window withan inconspicuous vent): NO CUTTING HOLES IN THE HOUSE!
my question is this. would it be wiser to draw IN cold air off the window (shitty single pain window= lots of cold air coming in) and i live in the great white north so outside is around 28-32 degrees this time of year.
or would it be smarter to hook my exaust to go thru carbon filter then out the window.... hence not brining exausted air back into the box.

im leaning towards the COLd air INtake... it seems it might cool my box more .. i dont know
any suggestions would be AWESOME, im on a budget as well, i have 25' of 4" ducting and 2 x 4'' inline fans (one for the box side of the ducting and one for the other side)

thank you all:bigjoint:

cold air might work better

the box is 28 " wide, 15" deep 60" high (split in half with veeging on the bottom right now)
the fans are all in the top as the clones and seedlings below are just under small CFL's.

i figure (by my highschool dropout math skills) that it is roughly 6.5 cubic feet
so theoretically, fan i have should even with the DIYfilter, empty the box 10 times a minute, minimum,....
you'd think this would be ample
...:-?

The simple answer to your exact question is to intake cold air from outside. Living in Oregon,I keep the lights on at night. It helps to save money on electric and keep temps cool by intaking cold air from mother nature herself.

Also, you simply cannot have the exhausted air going back into the box, or even near it. That air is hot and will heat everything near it. If it is filtered well enough, you should be able to exhaust it back into the room somehow. The cleanest air in my house is that which blows out of my DIY carbon filter.

No worries, hope it's working OK. I have a similar problem whereas due to not thinking logically during construction, I built myself into a corner where all the heat exhausts right underneath the box, warming it up. Been able to manage temps thanks to cool, night air for now, but will have to build my way out of this mess come summer.

About the pellets, they might work and there are definitely others who say they do. I've always been lucky enough to get the real good stuff with lots of surface area though, so no personal experience there to draw from.

Good luck!
