I do this as well.
Only I do it kinda differently than you do.
Here's how I do it:
Alright...
First thing in the morning.. when I wake my plants from my custom made 'Black Box' (dark room/box)... which my Schedule currently (flwering cycle) is 10am-9pm (11hrs light/13 hrs darkness).
The way my house sits.. the front of my house is facing Directly Eastward.. with the back of my house facing directly Westward. I have a lot of big windows too.. especially on the front of the house. And on the back too.. but the front has a lot more than the back.
So yeah, once I get them woken up from sleep at 10am; The sun is shining directly through the front windows on my house.. which is perfect for plants.. so of course you get the idea of where I'm going with this.. I simply place my 2 plants on the floor (carpet floor) directly in the Sun's path of light.
Now, usually in the winter like right now.. they get a good sun bath which usually (winter time) lasts a good 3 or 4 hours until the sun gets directly over the house which then I don't really have any good direct sun beams coming through the windows. So, I'll wait until about dusk when the sun starts shining through all the windows on the back of the house.. and simply move the plants to the back of the house.. into the guest room and let them get another 1 hour or so of Sun light before the day ends.
Needless to say the plants love getting a nice Sun bath. Mine always have anyhow..
Also, I ordered my HPS light kit today. When i first started growing bud.. i started out using an MH light that a friend gave to me (traded).. but the problem was I couldn't afford to run it every freaking day so of course I got rid of it. Gave it back to my buddy.
I've been growing with CFL lights for a while now. I like using them because they work great for what they are you know? But.. you just can't beat using a MH or HPS light kit for growing.
You get bigger/fuller/more dense/fatter plants every time using HPS/MH lights.
But I ordered my new 250watt HPS kit this past Thursday. Which will be plenty enough light for what I grow.
But yeah.. if you have a way to get sunlight to your plant.. while still having your plant indoors.. like I do? I would def. suggest doing it. Your plants will reward you.. even if they dont.. trust me.. they do appreciate the Sun bath.
Peace.
