No... only an HPS and only the ballast wattage rating for that bulb. I read that at many of the sites selling those bulbs.

Get an HPS ballast and you can run both MH and HPS in the same lamp as long as the bulb's wattage does NOT exceed the ballasts output.

i use hps to run a eye hortilux and a philips cmh, run on a hps as well, both 250w run at same time seperate ballast, one home made works fine
