Cooling water in a single bubblebucket?

That's what I do when it gets too warm. I stick a finger in the water and look for cool to chilly.
The pop bottle might break off a few small pieces of root, but I've never done any damage by using this method.
And, you'll also want a root/water treatment (if you're not alrready using one) like Pond-Zyme or HydroSparkle.

Are these products similar to hydrozyme or cannazyme? I'm looking to the same answer myself. I have a combo of DWC and coco pots and have no room for a storage container.

No, i drop a 1 Liter bottle in every 24 hours. sometimes 500ml bottles. For ease of removal i suggest you tie some string around the neck of the bottle and let it hand outside of the bucket under the lid. Makes removing them super easy and you don't have to fish for the bottles. But then again i insulated my 5 Gallon pails with Foil bubble wrap. then chrome duct tape for the lids. it keeps the water cooler longer. from 75f a 1 liter bottle will bring it down to 64-65f. No big deal buddy. plant roots do not get hurt by the bottle. (Unless you pull the bottle out and take 2/3rd of the roots with it... just be careful)

So you can just drop a frozen bottle in the bucket?? I was told that if the roots touch the bottle then will die from the shock of the ice.....but from reading this im tempted to freeze some bottles tonight.

I have a freezer full of them..breeding project buckets not set up on recirculating systems, so ATM I have a freezer full.
Where i am, just throwin frozen bottles inside of the bucket doesnt really do the trick, the bottles melt too quickly, u have have to move ur plant out of the way to remove and add new bottles, so its kind of a pain in the ass. So i had an idea of a home made ice chiller, what i did was i have a small water pump in my bucket that takes the water to an air tight sealed bucket, where is full of frozen bottles, and another small water pump that will throwin the water back to the first one. So what it does is it circulates the water makin it ice cold, and when u have to change the bottles, u wont have to mess with the plant

But u have the heat of two pumps now. Dont kill yourself on this, the key is to not let temps stay high for a extended period. Just getting temp down to 65-68 once a day will do.
