Cops destroyed ATMs while collecting back taxes at LA dispensary. Why?

Legally they are allowed to seize any money on the premises. It's not fair that when a regular business is behind on taxes different aggressive measures are taken, but dispensary owners should realize by now, especially in California, that you'd better have all your i's dotted and t's crossed at all times.

I mean it's just another example of police being used to strongarm citizens for money.

They are more a means to extract taxes (via actions like this and fines), and protect capital's interest than they exist to protect the citizenry .
