Current junk value of a small car

My buddy has to junk his car and was wondering what the scrap value of a small car is?

Call a steel mill (not joking) or a scrap dealer (there are such things). Ask the mill for purchasing, ask the scrap dealer for sales; give them the vehicle’s curb weight (empty), don’t try to complicate it, just ask the value of that weight of scrap: what the mill pays, what the dealer wants, for that weight.

Doesn’t mean it’ll help him sell it
