just replaced my 18watt (6500k) floros tubes with 20watt (6000k) Full-Spectrum daylight.
dk. but feels like the older regular tubes are brighter than the Fullspecrum aquarium tubes.

+ there is an extra 36 watt (2700k)warm daylight in the middle of the two tubes,
should I keep it or replace it with cool day (6500k) which one will give more balanced spectrum?

any thoughts???

hi, i'd use the non-aquarium bulbs. The way the cfl is positioned the vast majority of its light is being wasted as the majority of the light comes from the sides. A mixed spectrum is best (ie both bulbs in the 2500k-3500k{red spectrum} and 5000k-6500k{blue spectrum} spectrum ranges.) plants get both in nature and have adapted to that by having 2 types of chloroplast one that interacts with the red side of the spectrum and 1 with the blue. how much heat do those little tubes put out? how far are you keeping them from the plants?

Adilsas: In my experience, seedlings will go after almost any light source and what you're doing looks good. Keep them under blue light for now for vegging and later red. You might want to see what's available at you local hydro stores. Document it so you can repeat it next time. HSA
