Dispensary prices

Except if u home grow, you know fo' sho' wtf u grow. Not to mention from what I see in RIU (i never tried any) it's way superior smoke, quality, taste, mellowness of flavor, etc. So, there's that. If there was no stigma, i had nothing to fear, i'd sure plant me some.
Move to a legal state.

Keeps law enforcement's boot off of your neck often, but not always :bigjoint:
Yup, "not always". And the legalization laws are so ambiguous that u have no idea where u stand.
Then there's the issue of Schedule One narcotic classification and that it's still illegal in the entire USA, just
various and sundry states have various and sundry ambiguity in the laws each state passes. :(

In Cali about a decade ago it was hit or miss. Some dispensaries had large, well manicured and cured buds - others had these tiny little popcorn sized buds that were usually rock hard and over dried, same prices. A place in Massachusetts that I visited had something in between, perhaps from different growers - the place I just visited here in New York had those tiny little rock hard over trimmed buds. I'm guessing the growers are keeping the top buds and pushing the junk. Lame. I walked out of there with nothing

Mostly dispensaries don't have anything I want either. Before I grew Bubblegum I bought some. Yuck! Mine was much better. I recently bought some very high thc Durban Poison. But it has no anise taste (and I suspect was sprayed with something before packaging). My 14 to 17 week seeds will be much better. Just paid $16 for an 1/8th of GDP. At least it has the correct flavor.

Dispensaries are a crap shoot at best.

I believe corporate weed lacks flavor and smell due to the use of irradiation to clean up/sterilize their microbial contamination before submitting it to the lab. Ionizing gamma-irradiation does not effect cannabinoids much, but kills about 1/3 the terpenes.

In a legal state it is not illegal. Guess that was hard to understand.
Yeah, it is hard to understand. Seen any of the state laws? And then
you must be aware that it's still illegal in every state in the country, right?
Yup, it's very hard to understand, the way they make the state laws. Yup.
So, what i mean here is it is FEDERALLY ILLEGAL in ALL states, and state laws don't mean fuck-all.

doughboy, got any stats on federal enforcement of small state legal grows?

No, I didn't think so. That's because DOJ was encouraged not to.
