Distinctive aroma . . . strain I.D?

Hey Ope-
Having done 20-40 harvests, I'm almost done curing part of my latest effort and couldn't help noticing the buds, undisturbed, smell almost exactly like strong, wet paint? Disturbed, it smells like excellent weed smells and it has a fruity, hash-like taste when first lit.
Based on the paint aroma, can anyone ID this strain for me? It seems to be a 42-50** day budding variety? It's a smell I've never smelled w/weed before. Perhaps someone has done some genetic adjusting so the undisturbed grow would smell like drying fresh paint . . . a good idea?

** based on 1st pistils showing
Thanks,

Perhaps not . . . however this smell IS definitely unique to this strain and when someone who has grown it reads this, they'll know exactly what I'm asking them.

actually he does have a very valid point, and with something as unique as a "drying paint" smell to the untouched buds it could be identified very easily by someone who knows it. the problem is though, actually having someone who knows and would recognize it, come across this thread.

ive purchased weed like that before bag when i used to get 1 pint mason jars with an oz in them from a grower i went off my tits at him for trying to tamper with me herb fuck might have been too hastey he was adiment it was genetic but i didnt believe him thought he was doin summat to the grass

Interesting. Do you recall the pot being real decent, or what? This pot is quite powerful and there's really no trace of that paint smell in the taste.

nah no chance a good friend of mine was growing hash plant for years and a few crosses too it definately doesnt smell like paint lol

Well, here it is October 08' and I've a couple new "fresh paint" jars curing again, with no real leads. I did come across a strain on a strain guide that some reported smelled like wet paint. Now, if I can just find that again, I'll let ya'll know.

Does is smell like mineral spirits, like an oil-based paint? If it does it's possible it may share genetics with the Diesel aka Chem aka Chemdog(also spelled ChemDawg) aka OG Kush aka Headband. Some well know hybrids; NYC Diesel, EC Sour Diesel, Sour Diesel, Petrol, Chemdawg, Giesel, etc. The Diesel/Chem strains smell like fuel (smell is similar to mineral spirits, terpentine, Kerosene, etc) and lemon, lime, grapefruit. Is what you are smelling something like this?

This very well be the answer. I O U one.
Do you happen to know if this aroma disappears upon completion of cure, leaving behind a not particularly smelly product that bursts forth with that expected "exotic" aroma of expensive ganja when the buds are broken for use?

Definitely REALLY stinky when broken up! Here's some info on the genetics directly from the breeder, Rez.
