I got tired of having my bowls just lying about loose so I decided to build myself something to hold them.
Materials:
2x6 plank. An 8' 2x6 was something like $6 at Home Depot
18mm Boring Bit. You want something that will drill a nice clean hole. I couldn't find anything at the hardware store so I ordered one on eBay for $4
Tools:
Saw to cut off a piece of the 2x6. I made mine 12" long
Drill. I used a drill press
I'm a little on the anal retentive side so instead of just eye-balling the holes, I created a template first. Here's a shot of the template taped down onto the wood.

Sorry for the weird colors. I had the white balance on my camera set for shooting under a HPS bulb so the photo came out very blue tinted.
Once I had the template on, all that was left was 5 minutes drilling out the holes.
Here's what it looks like with some of my bowls loaded into it.

Next Steps
I'm going to leave it like it is for a few weeks to see how I like it. Unless I have something I want to change, then I'll sand and stain my bowl holder. Long term I want to see if I can wire up some LEDs into each hole from the bottom and power it off of a USB port. The worlds first USB powered bowl holder.
