Do I have a fungus gnat infestation?

Hey everyone I’m having a hard time figuring out exactly what I’m battling in the grow room. At first I thought they were thrips but I’m noticing that after foliar IPM, the bugs are mostly on the coco now.

They look like fungus gnats but also look like aphids…. What are your thoughts and if you have any tips on getting rid of them I’d appreciate the helps. Thank you.

Those are fungus gnats. If you have flying gnats you also have larva and eggs in the soil so it often takes more than one treatment.

Get some Mosquito bits or chunks, (the main ingredient is BT- mosquito bits are just easier to find locally) soak them in water, pour the water over the soil. The larva live in the top couple inches. Repeat in 4 days and then once more in another 4 or 5 days.

Spray plants, top of spoil, all around the pots with a nontoxic bug spray like Dr Zyhmes or Lost Coast Plant Therapy. Both can be used on plants in flower but I never spray buds once pistils are showing. Do this every few days, it’s easy.

Keep the traps out to reduce the adult population.
These usually come in your soil. Change soil brands if they persist.
