you take the plant to your bath tub or somewhere with plenty of drainage. As mentioned if you have a 1 gallon pot its at least 3 gallons you allow to "run through" this is now flushed, afterwards you just water with no nutes like you always did just remove the nutes. You are not going to be using a daily flush or you are sure to overwater and kill your plants. Be careful of the advice given here and read more before following along.

also your goal should be to not water at all for the last couple of days to allow the plant to use up all its got and you dont have so much to dry out when harvested. IF you were to water twice as much as the pot can hold on a daily basis I give the plant 7-14 before it shows the damage
two gallons a day would hurt it,fluishing is just watering normally without nutes you dont feed 2 gallons everyday,unless your plant has gills,give her water for a week b4 you think shes done then maybe let her dry(medium)then chop when your ready to chop,trichs pistils all that its hard to wait,good luck
