is there ever a point during flowering when the plant wont stop growing vertically? is there any way i can cause it to branch more, or simply use its energy to strengthen the stems so that they can hold heavier buds?

i know when 80% of there growth is in the flowering state so if u bud a plant at 2 ft it will end up being 5 1/2 ft when its done so keep that in mind.

yeah, one or two stems are growing very high so far, and i am wondering if i should tie those down, and then just let the rest grow normally. is it ever too late to tie a stem down?

edit: im in about week 2 of flowering

Some believe that you can do it toolate.. I am notone of those. You can tie it down (LST) or super crop them, I'd do it.
As far as how much a plant grows, that depends on the strain as much as any thing else. Some plants grow very little (slowly) in veg and other gow faster, and the same holds true vice versa.
One thing that I've noticed it that most plants "stretch" during the first three weeks of bloom and establish their internode lengths at that time.
Do a search for supercopping... here, and also at you tube.

I was almost 2 weeks in flowering when I took every one of my plants, bent them all so they were half their height and put a screen on top. 2 days later had over 30 3" shoots sticking up. 5 days later? Over 60. I keep tying them down again if they go over 5-6" above screen because of my height requirements. They never stressed. That's for 6 plants btw.

Topping will do both of those things...makes the plant make more secondary branches, and thickens the stem....

i thought you couldn’t top during flowering? I was going to transplant mine and top it but then I read on here not to do either so I’m letting her do her thing. Mine stopped growing vertically for about a week now and it’s only 30 inches tall lol but flowers everywhere. I wish for more branches. Here’s mine now and I think I’m 2 weeks into flowering. Mines white widow. I have a fan to make the stems stronger. I give you good vibes and a good yield!
