Doctor's Reccomendation // SOS

Has anyone here received a doctor's recommendation for a condition that hadn't previously been recorded in their medical history?
I basically don't want to waste lots of time and money that I don't have talking to doctors about pills that I don't want.
I am very serious about this. Any and all help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Will your examining physician even have your medical records present? If not then how would they even know... And is it just a straight evaluation appt?

I was going to bring my med records with me, just because all the clinic websites say to bring them. Should I not?
I'm looking to get a recommendation for anxiety and insomnia. Last time I went to a doctor (>2 years ago), I was suffering from neither of these. So what I'm trying to figure out is, if I walk into MediCann or whoever, and they see that I have no history of what I'm complaining about, will they not give me a recommendation? Will they tell me to go see my 'family physician' to discuss treatment, or recognize that I'm truly seeking relief the best way I think I can?

I didnt have a primary physician, because I have no insurance. But my evaluation physician just talked with me for almost 45 minutes about the condition. I told him that I had been suffering from insomnia (which is very real for me). Because I didn't have a previous record to prove my condition (which I think it has to be something you were treated/seen for within the last two years) he just had to schedule a 6-month check-up date, which was free and only took minutes. I don't know how medicann works, but personally I would recommend a private doc that does evaluations/recommendations, if there is one available in your area. Maybe call medicann first before you throw down some money and get nothing. But I do recommend getting your script before november, as a contingency for both scenarios.
