DWC question

Hey everyone, I've been experimenting with a few different forms of hydro, and it has all been done on the cheap. I dont have a PPM meter yet. I am still using foxfarm nutes.

I have a plant in a 3 gallon bucket, and the edges of the leaves have little yellow dots, along the edge of the leaves.

I do not believe it is a N defiency, although I could be wrong. My reasoning for not believing a N defiency, is the color of the leaves, have a dark green color.

As this is only an experiment, and as I've killed two fem mazar trying the hempy bucket method, the strain in the bucket is lowrider, so if it dies, I dont care. LoL

What do you hydro guys think, whats your best guess?
Peace

The cheap combo meters are ok, but the only problem is if it konks out on you, you can't check either. That was my only reasoning behind getting 2 seperate meters. That one looks like it's not bad, pretty inexpensive.

I had what sounds to be a similar problem with my plants. This happened to me before i had my digitals, and never had a problem since. I believe the problem was from too much pH fluctuation although i am not certain.

Hey NGT, heres a picture, dont laugh now, I had no rockwoll at the time, so we used a paper towel, which seems to of worked nicely too.

But anyways, heres a picture, showing the problem on the leaves.
Thanks for any input you may have.
Peace

EDIT: I just PH'd the water, and its at 6.6, maybe thats the problem? In hydro shouldnt it be lower?

Is a picture possible?

The ph is out and you could fix that, i think thats got something to do with the tip colour, but tbh I think the yellow speckles are something else, maybe some kind of pest sucking the chlorophyll out. I couldnt give you a 100% answer though but i dont think its nutes or ph.

Looks healthy other wise.. I nuked mine bad,, they looked rough so i flushed them and gave them aspirin (1.5 per gallon) three weeks later the scaring the burn caused is healing up big time. I wish I could find yhe artical i read about the healing powers of aspirin and plants.

VM, I read that sign as either too much or too little of some trace elements. I've only seen it during flowering though, so I usually suspect MG. At your stage of growth, I have no idea.

Are your Foxfarm nutes for hydro? I believe that they make nutes for both. Many times soil nute formulas don't contain many trace elements because they're already in the dirt.

Hey potroast, the foxfarm lineup, is either/or, soil or hrdro nutes.
I was using the growbig, but just added the tiger bloom, as I was missing that, I also lowered the ph a bit.

I can see where I am going to have to buy a PH test pen also, cause you cant use a simple chart to test ph after you've added the nutes, as the nutes change the color of the water.
Peace
