early harvest

Hey everyone,
longtime lurker, only made a few actual posts here

I just cut down my first lady, a bag seed grow.

I know from looking at it that it should have gone longer but due to my travel plans for christmas I had to cut it down earlier than would have liked.

Just checking to see if anyone has tips for trying to get the optimal smoke out of bud thats been trimmed down a bit early.

I've read plenty about slow drying and longer curing periods but I just ran out of time in the end. Is it too optimistic to hope to smoke some of it before leaving for christmas on the 19th?

Then, a final question, assuming its got about 2 full weeks to dry / begin curing, Should I do anything special storage wise knowing that whatever of it I don't smoke before leaving for christmas will essentially have to sit untouched for another 2 weeks? (ie no one to open the jars, stir things around, etc..)

Christmas is 22 days away, 3 weeks your plant could have grown alot in 3 weeks, pooor little girl. Since this is your 2nd post I guess you first was pretty good to be counted as a few.

Dry it right and cure the hell out of it if you want to get the best out of it. But put it in the microwave for 20 seconds a pop and let it dry out and then smoke it tonight if you want.

dont forget to wrap it in a paper towel..thats how i quick dry right when i harvest and want to try a little sample bowl..just seems safer

Yeah what I meant was that in 2 weeks I am leaving and will be gone for a 2 weeks. So if I waited to chop her down until then I'd have no way to control the drying curing process (look for mold, trim properly, etc); also I had no easy way of keeping her growing safely while I'm gone (watering system).

anyway whats done is done. Perhaps I'll snip off a small bud and try a microwave quick dry.

Regardless of the outcome I learned a lot. I basically just used this grow as a trial run to learn some pointers on bagseed before popping some nice seeds when the new year rolls around.
