ELECTRICAL question! how to slow a fan down. tokenchoken or anyone!!

Yah it should work,I've wired lots of these in chicken barns with no trouble.

I bught a 3 speed control and wired it correctly (theres only one way, really) and it only works on high. Med and Low settings don't work at all. hmmmmmmm any suggestions?
