Fan off or on when the lights are out.

Does it need to be on at all times? I realize there is and can be a breeze at all times of day outdoors but just curious what people thoughts are.
 
Air circulation is always good, you want to have a continual supply of fresh air coming in. It's probably not necessary but honestly the money you'll save by not using it would be very minimal.
 
I have a small fan running 24/7 in my cfl grow with no problems . Also recently found helps keeping humidity levels lower during lights off.

I disagree with the humidity part of your post strongly. A fan just moves the air it doesnt dehumidify.

I can't speak from experience - but I would assume that the fan moves the more humid air of the grow area out of the room and pulls less humid air from out of the area. Usually levels of humidity in grow areas are higher than elsewhere correct?

Thats a big problem here, people speaking without experience and I was talking about the circulation fan and you are talking about intake/ extraction fan.

I just assumed that extra airflow would increase the rate of air extraction if you are smart and place it facing you exhaust side.
 
Which fan are we talking about? Some of us are talking about the circulation fan and some the extraction fan.
 
Fan ON always... constant air movement. Helps with so many things from keeping molds and PM at bay to strengthening your stems and stalks through the constant movement. 24/7 fan ON.
 
Well... Some of my fans are on 24/7 and some are on only with the lights....
Some are to bring air in and circulate, some are to just move air and some are to exhaust air...
some come on in the afternoon [plant room time] when the day gets hotter [inside bud room]...
