First grow, am i doing okay?

My plant is 4 inches tall and has 4 full leaf sets, two more developing, it a month old. Its very healthy and ive been lsting it due to lack of space(a little over two feet). Is there any better ways to keep it short? Im also using miricale grow due to lack of money, have had no problems with nute burn. Im only using two cfls for lighting, i have it on 24 hour lighting, when can i switch to 12-12 for maximum yeald in amout of space.

most wait to flip to 12/12 when the presex flowers show but if you are getting seven finger leaves some people do it at this time when space is a concern. sounds like all is going well! first grows are fun. Enjoy it!!!

Look up FIM, a topping technique to keep your plants low and bushy. Now is the time to do it.

You can force flower any time but like cacamal sez, best to wait till she is ready and show preflowers.

I hear growing mj plants in MG can be tricky. Yeah nute burn is one of the problems - there may be more I dunno.I think there are a couple of threads by people who do this. You might check them out.

If your dealing with height issues you could throw a SCROG screen over it.

If you are having trouble with keeping a tall plant, You can simply top it. Or use the FIM technique..

Topping the plant will send it signals to stop growing taller, And start producing more bud sights.

Different techniques will produce a wide variety of results... Simply topping the plant will produce 2 Main Colas.
FIM tends to produce more colas.

Topping is done above the 3-4 node. Once the plant has about 5-6 Nodes... You can use the plant matter you topped to create clones, Plenty of articles online
