so i want to start growing soon and since it's my first time i'm going to use some bagseeds, probably plant a few just in case alot are males, but i'll probably only keep 2 or 3 females. so with that said what would anyone suggest i use for CFL bulbs i'm on a tight budget so that's all i can afford at the moment. i'm going to use them throughout the entire grow. so how many should i get? what wattage? what light spectrum? and etc.

any help is appreciated

also suggestions on nutes, i'm trying to keep this simple so i don't fuck it up

you need 6500k for veg and 2700k for flower. if you have to use the same bulbs all the way through then try to get something in between or a mix of the 2 spectrums but growth may be slower. 100 watts per plant is a safe bet. 100 real watts not the incandescent equivilent. less than that for veg is ok. you can always buy the 6500k bulbs now and you'll have plenty of time to get the rest of your bulbs by just picking up 1 or 2 here and there. if go with cheap nutes like mg or schultz go very very light on em and do not use any at all prior to 2 or 3 weeks in veg. if you do they will die.

The 2700k 42 watt Cfl's work best but they are about ten dollars each so you would probably best off buying a six pack of the 23 watt bulbs and getting a few Y splitters so you can screw two bulbs into each fixture that should only run about 15 bucks. just rember you need a least 25 watts per square foot. three plants of average size should take up about six square feet reqiure at least six 23 watt bulbs, more the better

I would go with at least 50w per square foot . I have a grow room thats 2'x3'x6' and I use 12 23w 6500k for vegging . For flowering have same size room with 12 43w 2700k in it .

Good place to start! i picked up about 20 23 watt 2700k bulbs for 59 cents each. They had some special going on so i stocked up, although the 6500k's were still expensive.... im ready for flowering at least lol

not really worth it for the price. they will not eliminate the need for odor control. those arent made to get rid of the kind of odor you're going to have

that would be nice, the only problem with that is i can't order online so if you know of any places that would sell them in a store that would be helpful.
