First grow (CFL, PC)

I thought when the seeds got here I'd be started.

I am still missing light bulb plug adapters. Walmart was out and didnt feel like paying triple price at Lowes.

I got something to grow in today but was wondering what size ya'll are using. This container is 13.3" x 7.5" x 4.75". It seems huge for just one plant and I think it is too big for my case. It fits, but seems too large takes up too much room, but I feel like I have heard about similar dimensions for one plant.

I am waiting on those light adapters and have another fan in the mail, but not necessarily waiting on that.

Does anyone know if stacking fans will help or hurt with ventilation? Like I want to hook up another exhaust fan blowing the same direction as the current exhaust fan.

I did find some carbon filters for a window A/C unit at Target. I can fit them in front of my exhaust fan if it will push enough air through, which I think it will. I was going to consider stacking another fan with it but didnt know if it would help.

Still have to decide if I am going to hook timer up outside of the case and run powerstrip out or run a cord in and leave timer in the case. I really want the second option, but dont know what to do with the extra long powerstrip cord.

Stay tuned. Plan on Germing on Monday.

I chose to germinate Joint Doctor's Lowryder #2. I decided on this because of the short time. 8 weeks to harvest. It is an autoflowering strain.

My question is do I use the 6500k lights for about a week or 2 then switch or just wait till they start to flower then switch the bulbs?

I put them in a papertowel in a plastic bag and am waiting. I'll keep everyone posted.

I have a 26oz or 750ml square container. It is taller than it is wide. Should I use this for a container or is it too small? I feel like my other one is too large. Still trying to decide on this.

24 hours in and nothing has happened to my seed.

I bought a new container. it is 2.5qt/2.4L.

7 3/8" x 5 5/8" x 6"

I am not sure which to use. This one or the real big one

13.3" x 7.5" x 4.75"

This second one is real long and takes up the entire case. The smaller one is a little taller and not nearly as long.

Good news is I had a friend ring me up at Home Depot and told her about the socket adapters being significantly cheaper at WalMart and she gave me WM's prices. So I can finally start to make sure I am light proofed.

I built a make shift light trap for the large exhaust fan, and I dont like it. It takes up too much room in the case than I want. Anyone got any ideas on low profile pc fan light leak stopping? I dont know what I am going to do to the side fan. I may not be able to put it in because if I build another light trap then my box will be taken over by light traps.

First off try and keep this thread going as a grow log. Not enough noobs do grow logs so when your trying to learn you keep reading all the pro's grows which is hard to learn from. 2.5 quart pot should be plenty large for a pc grow. Dr. BudGreengenes can yeild a half ounce off each plant grown in a 16oz cup in a similar sized cab.

I'll keep it going. Its hard to judge because people say they recommend 1 gal buckets and stuff and I'm trying to do micro so most advice is useless.

Today the seed has opened and there is a tiny little root sticking out. It isnt long enough to plant into the soil yet, I dont think. I am going to give it 24 more hours.

So tomorrow the seed goes into the soil. My box is completely finished and I am excited.
