First Grow: Cheap PC stealth grow

Hey guys!

This is my first grow so a few things will be noobed up. I've been taking some pictures and decided it's about time to post them. It would be cool to get some feedback on any simple mistakes I'm making.

Here's an overview of the grow:

PC Case (190 x 439 x 490 mm)
4 x All good PC fans (quiet, decent air flow)
White reflective material stuff (80% reflective, for budget people)
Activated carbon sheet, strapped infront of exhaust fans

Veg cycle: 18/6 using
2 x 1300lm 24W Cool White CFLs
One x Bigger Cool White CFL (unknown luminosity)
Total ~4500lm I'm guessing

Flower cycle: 12/12 using
4 x 1550lm 24W Warm White CFLs
Total 6200lm

Nutrients:
Hydroponics store 'big growth' (veg) stuff. I haven't got around to getting any nutrients for budding yet. The soil is cheap compost from the garden centre, it's working pretty all good on my outdoor vege garden, but that is also complemented by my own compost. I haven't noticed any signs of nutrient deficiency despite not feeding it much since the flowering started. I'm going to start using the veg nutrients again though, it should be better than nothing right?

The girls:
The plants are AK47 or similar I think. The guy they're form grows them outdoors, 6ft tall. So they're really not suited to a PC case, but it was all I had access to.

So far I've done 4 weeks of veg and 2 weeks of flowering. If I were to repeat this again I think I would do a shorter veg cycle, probably 2 weeks or something. It's been going pretty well on the whole though, a few problems with getting the water right but nothing too bad. There are spider mites showing up which I am trying to treat. I heard humidity can really bugger them up, so I've been spraying the plants with tap water daily. I'd be keen to hear any other suggestions to get rid of the spider mites, if they don't start to disappear soon I'll adopt another strategy.

I'm also keen to hear any suggestions to maximise the yield on this sort of a grow. I know space is really restricted and so I could really benefit from a different strain, but that'll have to wait till next grow. I haven't been monitoring the temperature or humidity at all, but I do notice a good swing between middle of the day with the lights on and middle of the night with lights off, which I've heard is good to promote flower growth.

I'll do some more posts with pics in a sec.

Peace!

Here it is about a week into it. I've got some sort of LST going to keep them from going nuts. I'm trying to keep them about 1-2 inches from the CFLs for max light without burning.

Two weeks in, going steady:

Here they are at 3 weeks. I've just noticed the one on the right is a bit droopy, maybe slightly underwatered.

Also, I got my first spider mites here, a close up:

This is about 5 weeks in, they are on the flower cycle now. I've put a cage thing over them to help keep them down, wouldn't want them getting burnt at all!

And we're getting some buds!

I feel bad when I adjust them so they're back under the frame. These girls definitely wanted to grow bigger than this
