man nasd90, I spilled some of that thrive alive on the floor and it turned the cement the same color as that stuff. It has gotta be the issue with the weird colored roots. I am gonna stay away from the h202 unless I know for sure that I have a rr issue.

looks like a nice grow man. Im currently curing my soil grown bud and have an experimental drip hydro set up. In the next couple of weeks i will be growing Alaskan Ice and Blue mystic in a DWC. Keep up the good work! the one thing that ive learned with the hydro is keep a close eye on the pH and that will give you about a 60-40% chance of getting fems. look forward to seeing future posts. 400w hps work good for the flowering so youll be all set. are you cloning your little ladies or just growin those 2. I cloned many plants and got it down pat so if you need help with that holla.

Not sure if the PH level will give you a better chance of FEMS or not, but I keep an eye on it just for good order.

I try to keep it between 5.5 and 6.0.

So far so good!

True.

I'm also wondering how the statistic of "60% - 40% chance" is achieved, what that means or even measured for that matter? Still waiting on dudes response.

Good info though, Thanks!

Floratec nuts do that and they stink, try a small water pump to more the water off the bottom and the smell will go down a lot.

Looks great!

Peace

ok here we go with the latest.

No updates since Last post regarding nutes, or water changes. All seems to be going pretty well, for now anyway

There is a little discoloration on the roots. I dont think it is root rot because it does not have a weird smell, they are not slimey , and they are not weak. They feel just as strong as the rest of the root system that is nice and white.

I think it might be the Technaflora thrive alive B-1 Red. Once i added that stuff in with the nutes is when it started happening. what do ya'll think? ever had this happen?

I am using Technaflora nutes

Lower the ph to 5.2 to 5.4 according to the Hydro books and a long list of growers.

The seed is a male or female before you plant it and there is a 50 / 50 as to what it is. You can hermy a plant but that is a lesson for much later.

So, what you're saying is that lowering the pH to 5.2-5.4 will bring a 60%-40% chance of females ?
Just wanted to make sure.
