First grow going good?

I was trying to do a quick grow so I flipped them to 12/12 after about 4 weeks in veg, now 4 weeks into flower. Trying to do individual tests on the plants to see which gets better results. Do you think this is gonna be a good grow?

Probably your lighting.
You may have switched the lighting to 12/12 but they are not flowering yet from the photos.
You have them under a single t12 bulb, you need better lighting. It's keeping them happy at least.

How much light do you have them under? Looks like a t5 or t8 florescent. Soil and nutes used? These are mine around 4 weeks veg. They are in coco and been under hps since sprout, but yours look a week or two old. I'm new myself, and best advice I can give is research all you can, what you cant learn from reading comes from experience.

Regular potting soil, no nutes, added a bit of rootone though. As for the light all I know is what it says on it.

Yea id reveg them and get some more light. 20w worth will get them thru a week or so but they need alot more light as they get bigger. What size pots do you have them in? Dont give up hope you didn't kill them which is a good thing. Your light is the biggest thing I see holding them back at the moment.

8 inches deep, 5 inches wide
 
Roughly a gallon id think. Mine were in 1 gallon they were 6 in deep 6 in wide I think. Yea id switch back to veg for a little bit put in some bigger pots and get more light. Definitely do some reading on here. If you have any questions ill help the best I can.

Say I upgrade to some HPS lights, for a single plant, how long should the whole grow process take? Assuming I top the plant.
 
Depends on flowering time of strain and how long you veg. I think average for photoperiod plant is around 110 days. Topping can slow them down a little bit some strains respond better to it than others. If you are only gonna grow one plant you can get a 150w hps for like $60 on eBay and I think that would be plenty for 1 plant and alot better than what you have now and not put off alot of heat.
