First hydro grow w/ pics: NL

Hey guys. Been reading this forum for a wile, figured it was time to join and share some pictures and information of my first hydro grow.

Im using Flora Nova grow/bloom with Kaboom. Right now i just use flora nova grow with a dash of a vitamin mixture i have (no bloom or kaboom yet)
Im keeping my Ph at or a dash below 6.0
My PPm at the moment is 400 with tap starting @ 90. Im kinda scared to go more with how much my leafs droop..
Temps are 78 with mh on, 69 with mh light off. humidity stays about 40-50%.
I have a ultrasonic fogger.
I have a fan inside blowing on plants.
Im using 400w mh from seed. i have 400w HPS for when i go 12/12

I'm only on day 18 from dry seeds, but i think she (hopefully) looks good. The leafs droop a little, but i think thats the bushy nature of NLs genetics.

What do you guys think?

The pictures go in order from left to right.
1) day 7
2) day 10
3) day 14
4) day 18
5) day 18 roots
6) day 18 cut and planted attempt at clone in hopes of female.


The little brown spots u see on the bottom leafs are because i splashed water with nutes on the leafs and left them under light.. oopps.

Aslo, does anyone know how often i should drain my system and start over? I did it tonight. Is doing it ever 20 days enough? I did see some green slime on the wall where the water meets the air....(cleaned off, cleaned pump etc...)


Open to any and all suggestions. Im still a rook!

just looks like a fat growing litlle girl (hopefully), looks very healthy.... give it more time and dont try and tamper too much, that plant looks great...

I have read about products such as these. Do i really need it?

I normally go to the super market and pick up 5 or so 2.5 gallon juggs. This is my first time using tap (i pass all my tap through a Brita filter. it might not help but it helps me mentally).

I only have 1 plant growing (minus my new clone) and it uses about 3/4 of a gallon a day. I fill my reservoir every day.... This cant be my ONE plant drinking, it has to be evaporation from fogger right? but either way, i cant afford this much water... Tap it is...

if your using RO water than i would say its not necessary, probably half the stuff out there really isnt, but i know the botanicaire line is 2nd to none (maybe thats a stretch), it comes highly recomended for any tap water application, i keep some around when emergency calls for it (ran out of ro)...

I dont have the proper setup to cone correctly. I did however cut off 2 clippings in the hopes its a female. But i dont have high expectations for them.

heres a pic of the 2 clones. Only 3 days old. like i said i dont expect them to do much if anything due to the piss-poor cloning conditions.

they will look worse before better, did you use rootech or some other root gel? how about power clone? you can make those grow pretty easily, just keep em in water with a root gel

those babies will take right off on ya in a week or so... but they will look pretty bad 1st, but just watch those roots grow ;)

reefcouple: any idea when i should switch to 12/12. i have a 3 1/2 ft height restriction. Ive grown in soil before but it never grew (vertically) this slow in soil.. Is maybe 6" tall on week 3.... maybe another 2 weeks? or is it gonna take off one i flower with HPS?..

Yes i have gel on there. But the gel is old...

What is power clone?

Any suggestions on a good small clone system?

PS reef, im probably going to buy that RO system u suggested on monday. Just waiting to here if ebay seller will ship to non verified address due to a recent move.

power clone is a solution by botanicaire (nutrient) that the plants really thrive on.. i literally get a 100% rate on my clones...

on height requirements and when to enter flowering is really up to you, i would wait until they are atleast 4 weeks old, and definately wait til you know those clones are growing ;)

i've flowered as short as 8" and as tall as 24" they pretty much triple in height....

Just a few updates. Plant looks great.

It's weird how all my new leafs have 12 leafs. i guess thats a good thing though. Going 12/12 this weekend. RO unit on its way for next, larger grow.
