First hydro grow

Week 6 from dropping these pips I got from a local breeder into potting soil and solo cups->2.4 litre pot then into coco at week 3.

Never grown in coco before, just coming off the tail end of the cal/mag learning curve where for a few days things were not looking so lush (the nutrient line I'm using has no calmag additive) so I went with another brand to top up my water.

But these pots are a cool modular setup. So the net bottom pot sits in its drain bucket which sits in its stand, the base stand giving the room for a drainage system. I'm feeding by hand from a 100 litre res with a wand using gravity, twice a day now mostly but 3 for larger few on the right they seem to drink a bit more. I haven't plumbed my waste tank yet and I've been emptying these by hand each day but I'll order a pump and more hose to go out the window, I might even automate the whole setup in the later stages.

Nice work. I run the same setup but I run it top fed recirculating in hydrotonView attachment 5183510View attachment 5183511

Here is one of my journals using this setup. & my last one Tropicanna poison was real nice
Thanks for replying, they look great! I had a look through your journal too. I liked the idea of those over auto pots with how simple it is in that I can drop the top pot height by 6-8" once I have my waste installed or change to another hydro method and keep the same system if I decide I don't like coco.

Start of week 7 from dropping seeds, (week 6 from sprout) And I have dropped my lighting to 12/12 so I can sex these pups as I didn't buy feminized (3 spares in 2.4 litre pots on the floor in case I need to change some out) I've been manifolding to help build the canopy out but don't want to invest more time doing that before I know which are ladies! I plan to clone for mothers so my next run will be more homogenous and probably cross pollinate a few lowers if decent fella pops up, that way I can keep hunting for pheno's later on.

I'm already eyeing up the floof ball with huge vegetative growth in the lower right corner as a potential keeper (pic of trunk attached) .

Yeah they look real nice. These ones I transplanted 2 week old rooted clones(2 weeks from cut, 1 week after roots appeared) & veged for about 2.5 weeks they are now 4 weeks in flower.

7 days after switching to 12/12 I have eliminated 3 males, and put aside one that smells like lemon, who doesn't love a lemon daddy :weed:

Here are some cuts I made last night in sandwich bags in my 2x3x6 using buffered coco/perlite and 1/4 strength nutes, no hormones.

I suspect 2 more later showing males vegging leaving me 4 good ladies in the big room, most males I have ever had sprout beans 4 from 20. (I gave 6 seedlings to a buddy but not sure what he got yet)

Looks like I'm doing a 4 plant grow in an 8x4 this time around and I'll revert to 18/6 when the last few reveal their naughty bits. My next run will be a homogenous crop of 10 scrogged but until then I'll just keep making cuts to fill my clone tent - It is rolling into spring down under :bigjoint:

Back on 18/6 light cycle after ID'ing the last of the males. 5 is the magic number.

Ordered a couple of pole clip fans and setup the plumbing for my drain tank.

Might veg for a few more days to fill in what space is left.

Hindsight says I should have used a net that isn't made from bungy cord but these were on special at Bunnings and were just the right size for a 4x8, except the squares stretched out quite a bit but I will just lace it up with paracord over time.

Wont take long to fill those empty squares up with tops.

I probably wont run any cuttings indoors from either of these two stalky pheno's below but I will grow it out this time mainly because I want to fill my grow space and it would take too long to veg 3 plants to fill an 8x4, honestly if I hadn't topped those 4 times by now they would be 5' tall.

Not long now, I think I'm getting good growth rates.

I'm only using base nutes as every time I try to use growth additives (even in small amounts @20% recommended dose) I get some funny lock outs going on.

I will take more cuttings from the larger bush up the back to try even out the canopy height-wise a little and hopefully force it to fill out to the edges a bit more before the end of the week, its already touching the back wall so I might let a few tops ramp it up there while things plump out.20220906_091700.jpg20220906_091627.jpg20220906_091751.jpg
