-I am relatively new to this forum, although I am not new by any means to it's focus: Tha Chronic. I'm from the Pacific NW and I've grown outdoors here several times. I do not grow for profit, I do it to avoid the shady aspects of black market deals, also I do not like to support people who sell drugs to kids or use thier profit for gang-related activities. Recently I had to rip-off some thug to avoid being ripped off myself that was the last straw for me.
- for these reasons I have finally decided to make a small investment and create an indoor grow area. the only available spot to grow indoors is not that big so my grow chamber is mid-sized. Its a wooden frame on castors (wheels) that measures 6' wide x 4' deep x 6' tall. a 6' beam runs across the top to support my 600w digital HID light (since its digital it can run either MH or HPS without a conversion bulb, the manufacturer claims), and my exhaust fan. For the intake I built a wooden flange that holds a 20" box fanwhich has been sealed to the flange. air is sucked through 2 20" furnace filters and pumped into the chamber at a pretty decent rate. dont know exactly how much but the ventilation is not a problem, I also have an oscillating fan to make sure plants not in the direct path of the intake vent get good air movement as well. It is enclosed in a couple layers of mylar with just regular plastic to protext the mylar on the outside of the grow environment and is sealed very well and is close to air tight. It puffs up like a baloon when the intake is going full blast. the barn/woodshop is very dry, even though I live in one of the rainiest part of the nation, so I Have also added a humidifier. This actually is working and has raised the humidity by about 10%

-This is the first time I have actually purchased seeds as well. I believe this is how many I have of each variety, If I am wrong I will let you guys know. Right now I am growing 24 plants in veg:
  • 9 Blackberry from Vancouver Island Seed Co.
  • 7 Fuckin' Incredible from Vancouver Island Seed Co.
  • 8 G-13 Haze from Barneys Farm
I began germinating them almost exactly one month ago, on april 27th
They germinated quickly and I put them in small jiffy pots to sprout between may 1-5 (some were ready sooner than others). The G-13 Haze and Blackberry were very fast germinating, some were already cracking less than 18 hours after I began! They outgrew the jiffy pots very fast and I moved to 16 oz. party cups. Next time I'm just gonna start in the party cups.
-During this time they were in a little lean-to I made by building a frame
for 2 4' floursecent grow lights (5000 lumens each) and sealing it all off with a mylar emergency blanket with a flap i could open for access and leaning the lights against a white wall in the back corner of a counter. since the lights were at an angle, I created a stepped system so all plants could be at a similar distance from it. It was a great setup for seedlings, I however am used to growing outdoors and overwatered, which stunted some of the plants. this problem has since been fixed when most of the plants outgrew the party cups and i moved them to 3 gal pots in the real grow room, although some still show the symptoms on some of thier lower leaves.
-so right now it has been about 3 weeks since i first put them into dirt, and they are really starting to take off. I haven't measured internode length, but they are all short and relatively bushy, even the more sativa G-13 Hazes. I moved the seedlings out to start the veg cycle for real less than a week ago, so they are all under 5" tall, most are like 4". however, many of them are wider than they are tall. It seems like they are recently finally acclimatized to the new 3 gallon pots and the new grow environment and are really starting to grow fast. They look bigger every day. I plan on vegging them untill they are somewhere between 1 and 2 feet tall because i don't want to run out of room.
-I do not have pics at this moment, however I do have a digital camera and will take some this week... My memory card is full of video footage i promised to take for my cousin and have yet to get it to him. I would just put it on disk but... and i know this is rediculous in this day and age... I don't have a proper usb cable (I used to have like 5, and now i can't find them). but I will be getting this situation solved because it seems like I need to show you guys pictures so you can get the proper idea and provide ideas or help, or get inspiration from my designs.
-From now on my posts will be shorter on this thread, I just had to get all the background info in there. I wasn't planning on doing this origionally so thats why it's starting now... plus I had so much work to do for just that I wouldn't have had time for this. anyway, I'll get pics up and you can tell me what you think. thanks!
