First outdoor grow

Hi RIU, Ive been browsing through this forum some time now and going to be starting my first outdoor grow soon. Im bout to move out of RediJedi 420's place to my house i bought. Now we have an indoor grow semi under our belts, with our plants in flower now. Well im 100% medical legal and plan on growing in my back yard.
I had a few questions about how i should grow. I want to harvest a few pounds if possible, and wonder if i should plant into the ground or pots or double pot/ground?
Any info or comments are greatly appreciated. Oh, i close March 31st so moving in fairly soon.

Put them directly into the ground, they wont need to be watered as much and the roots will be able to grow more. You'll end up with a bigger plant with less maintenance in the ground. And considering yours don't have to be moved its probably your best bet.

Thanks, ya I was leaning towards just throwing them into the ground. Anyone know how much space I should give each plant? Plus, trying to decide on possibly ordering some seeds. Any outdoor recommendations?:bigjoint:

1-2 feet in between will be fine, how do you want to grow them? bushes or tall? if your doing bushes you might want a bit more space.

Yea i want bushes, dont want to be too obvious with my grow. i prob have about 8ft of privacy since my yard is lower than my neighbors. So some training/tying is how to grow a bushy plant?

tying down a plant will make it sort of bushy yes. But i find the best way to make a bushy plant is to just continue topping it. If you top it 4 times allowing a couple weeks of recovery in between you will end up with a short bushy plant that realistically has 32 tops and then whatever other tops come out of the sides of it. Look up how to top a plant in advanced cultivation.
And if by that point the plant starts to get too tall you can start tying it down.

To avoid plants becoming ridiculously obvious this can be achieved in stages through topping, bending and tying down.

Topping is by far and away the easiest method and can be started during the plants early stages whilst still in the garden and repeated once per visit to

your site. Simply pinch out the main growing tip at the top of the main stem at any time from a couple of inter nodes onwards. This will slow upward growth

and encourage side growth, creating a bush rather than x mas tree.Over a week or so, the stem immediately below the pinched part will produce two new shoots and after some time

has passed, these in turn can have their growing tips removed. And so on, and so forth. One stem becomes two, two become four etc. Same can be done with side shoots if they are

becoming too tall.

Yea, i wasn't sure if you could continue to top over and over again. I topped my 2 Chemdawgs and they went from a really lanky plant, to mini bushes with one topping so i hope ill have similar outcomes with my outdoor plants. Thanks.

Ok, so i ordered some seeds from Attitude that should be arriving by the end of the week. I ordered Purple Widow and Ice. With the order im getting a Sharks breath and a Cole Wreck. Plan now, is to germ 8 seeds and hopefully get 5-6 plants popped. Going to grow in 7 gallon pots using as close to Subcool's super soil as i can get from my local nurseries and hydro shops.

Got the seeds in today, and going to get them germing using paper towel method as soon as i get my house.

Its been awhile, but just got the babies outside. Went with some clones from a local dispensary, 3 Blue Dots and have a bad seed vegging inside still. I'm still using the 7gal pots right now, but may have to upgrade to 45gal to maximize my harvest. Heres some pics of the indoor veg.

Well plants are doing great, they've been out for awhile now. First pics are from a week or so ago, the next are from today and the last little plants are some sprouts. Changed my mind on the 45gal smart pots, now going to use 20gal pots to finish in for the Blue dots and the Afgooes are goin into the 7gals.

Ladies still doin strong, had some wind this past week and on of them fell over on its side in the pot. So, went and got some stakes to secure them. since i was already staking, i decided to lst my lanky lady. Hope you like the pics, feel free to comment. one of the ladies seems to have been over neuted, cuz she has some curled and wilty leaves.

Ahh, nice to be back. Have been without a comp for 2 months, so havent been able to update. I have been keeping a pic journal, so i have plenty of those. They are now about 3 weeks into flower and getting thick. Enjoy some pics and comment if you like.

Well half way through week 5 outside ( i believe). Alot of the trichomes appear cloudy but dont have much in the way of died off pistils, plus i know still have atleast 3-4 weeks left. But heres some pics i just took, comments are appreciated.
