First time hydro, need help with AN voodoo juice

So yesterday I decided to feed my Alaskan Ice. I mixed the following nutes in a 12L reservoir:

AN Sensi Grow A+B
AN Carboload (for the VJ)
AN Bud Candy (half strength)
AN Voodoo Juice
An Grandma Enggys Fulvic

Plant is 3 weeks old after seeding period. I added everything as directed on the containers. Plant has been under 18/6 light. PH is 6.2. Temps are 23-25c night, 25-28c daytime.

Now at first I was afraid of getting a little bit of nute burn since I upped the concentrate to EC 2.1, but so far everythings fine on that front. However when I checked the reservoir, there was a little bit of clear foam forming. Is that normal. All I know at this point is that it's definitely not bubbles from the airstone.

The only thing I've changed from every other feeding is that I've added Voodoo Juice to the mix. I'm guessing ATM the foam is created by the voodoo juice bacteria. However I'd like to hear back from someone with experience using this nutrient in hydroponics just in case. I don't want to be paranoid and flush.

Hello Mcdoobie, I have experienced this in my resevoir as well. From what it sounds like you dont have any problems with the plants health and are only concerned about foaming? If that is the case then you are definitely right about the voodoo juice being the cause. What happens is the beneficials in the Voodoo feed off the carbohydrates in your bud candy and carbo load plus the air from your airstone (bud candy is just carbo load combined with sweet leaf so there might be too much carbs) this makes them multiply which can be good, but can also make a mess if it gets out of hand. So what you want to do is give the microbes a place to colonize in the res. so just get a sea sponge or aquarium bio filter media and put your air stone in the middle of the sponge (you may have to get multiple small airstones to do this) that way they get attracted to something secure while still being able to feed off the extra oxygen. be sure to skim off the excess foam and after the addition of the sponges, the foam shouldnt return.

I was aware the budcandy was basically carboload and sweetleaf. That was one of the reasons I went half-strength on the budcandy (1ml/L) and carboload (1.5g/10L).

Checking back on it today, the foam seems to have toned itself back a bit and is now only visible on a small area under the roots attached to the netcup. They may have colonized in the hydroton media. That being said, my roots have grown like crazy the last couple of days.

I'll possibly get a lava rock to place on top the airstone. I got a 5" bubble disc. Should work better than a sponge.
