First Time

So this is the first time I have grown a plant.

I am using CFL's with a very basic setup.
I have a little fan for air circulation but not much other than than.

I'm hoping that my late night symphonies will keep them looking so beautiful.

What does everyone think?

The pics are one week after the little sprouts pushed through the soil.

Any suggestions for a newbie?

Okay dude....I've just started the whole CFL grow thing myself and I've compiled some knowledge thats working for me so far. If you gonna use cfls you have to use the right light spectrum for veg and then switch for flowering.....Use the 6500k "DAYLIGHT" 23w cfls for veg then switch to 2700k 42w for flower. 18hours on and 6hours off for veg, once the plants have reached desired hieght switch to 12hours on 12 hours off for flowering time. Use good nutes if you can but if not at least use miracle grow. I used 8-7-6 all pupose for when they were small then try to get it up to 10-30-20. Try to add some dolomite lime to your soil when you transplant and that should take care of it. I know there will be others on here that will tell you to buy the expensive stuff but the fact that you are using Cfl's tell me you are trying to do it on a small budget. This is just my advice and not the word of God, I think you'll be ok as long as you keep checking this site! Good luck and keep atter I'll check in with you .

I second both bighitter and dragonsmoke. From the pics it looks like your using 2700k. Daylight (6500k) is the way to go for veg. Get them within a few inches to prevent more stretching. And when you transplant remember to bury your stems.

Lookin good though and you have definitely come to the right place! Happy Growing :joint:

Yeah. Get those babies much closer to the light. And you're gonna need more lights. Or decrease the number of plants you're growing, and you could probably grow with four CFL's.
