Like the title says this is my first time and ive done a fair amount of reading through various guides on the actual growing process and hydroponic vs conventional etc, but im still a little unsure as to exactly what i should be getting for the area that i have for my budget and goals etc and would appreciate any help people are willing to give.

Goal
-Rolling harvests every 8 or so weeks
-Flowering area sutible for 2 or so plants.
-Summer area for mother and a few clones

Space avalible
-Cupboard 75cm(W)x110cm(L)x200cm(H) the open side is the 75cm
-Extration shouldnt be a problem as it shares a wall with the side of the building

Strain
- Snow White?

What are you recormendations? Custom build, kit mixture? currently I've found
http://www.growell.co.uk/p/1538/Hobby-Kit-NFT-250.html is this a good place to start?

I am from europe but dont worry about finding suppliers any link to the parts is great.

thanks duzza

If Google's calculations are correct then you have just about 9 square feet of space, or just shy of a square meter for you metric weirdos. That means you definitely have the space for a 250 watt HID and some additional fluorescent lighting (optionally) or perhaps even a 400 watt HID in a cool tube.

The kit you're linking to doesn't seem like a bad deal, but you'll have quite a bit of space left over (at least a few square feet). No matter what lighting/hydro kit you use you'll need to figure in ventilation requirements. What you do will depend on things like the light you decide to get, weather in the area and characteristics of the cabinet. If you did use a 400 watt you would need more air flowing through the cabinet or cool tube if you went that route, as a higher wattage bulb is going to produce more heat.

Because it is a small space inline duct fans will suffice. You could use a minimum 4 inch inline duct fan/booster to expel the hot/stagnant air and your intake can be passive. If you used a 400 watt system you'll be better off with a 6 inch duct fan, with the bulb in a cool tube; that will help you deal with heat and maximize space. Only downside to this is that it could complicate venting a bit, as the tube might need its own in/out takes separate from how the cabinet itself is vented.

If you have a remote ballast for the lights are you going to be able to keep it outside of the cabinet or would take be suspicious?

Thanks for the reponse Nullis, good to hear that you think ill have space for the 250watt hid my intention is at the moment to have that fueling the flowering section and having some Fluorescent bulbs on the veg. because of the small movement area i have im thinking of seperating them vertically effectively haveing two cuboides (i hear snow white is stocky, so may suite this). Would it be better for find a tray myself that better fits my dimentions or is this kit worth going for?
As for the remote ballast, im pretty safe from suspicion.
