Im converting one tent to flood and drain. I have 3x3 flood table low rise, I am using air pots 5 gallon. Is a low rise 3.5" deep better than regular deeper unit.

Will it matter? How important is white vs black?

I prefer deeper so I can flood deeper and have more roots. Shallow flood = shallow roots = less yield potential. The exception is if you top feed using something like floraflex and rock wool.

White trays are nice but the side lips on botanicare take too much space. I personally have a space issue.

I also have algae issues with the white tray even though I slightly tilt the tray so water doesnt stay in the ridges in my ebb and flow setup.

Id recommend the black trays. less algae, cheaper, and takes less slightly less space because it doesnt have the lips on the side.

I do SoG with 6 inch square pots with LECA.

Pot thats above the water line when fully flooded isn't gonna do anything unless you are top feeding and just using the tray as a collection device.

I never let the algae bother me, the roots love those channels with the leftover water.
