flourescent heat problems

Ok so I just bought a 4x4 tent and have a 8 bulb 4ft fixture in the tent on a bunch of seedlings. My temps stay around 85 degees even when i hook my 8in blower. I have a fan blowing up at the fixture but it still stays at 85. the light is about 1ft above the seedling so im guessing its radiant heat. The ambient temp is in the lower 70's, upper 60's. I bought 2 of these fixtures for vegging ONLY hoping to avoid using a AC, do you guys have heat problems with flourescents?

What do you have for exhaust to blow the hot air out? I some times have heat problems in veg because lights are low to the ground and with the hood it captures the heat in. i sometimes add a fan blowing horizontally across the bulbs. seemed to help. but exhaust is the main thing.

Yea my CFL fixture gets pretty warm. You need a good exhaust taking plenty of air out and I also use a fan to blow right across the bulbs. Also I'm not being super stealthy or anything at the moment so I just leave to doors to my wardrobe closet open a few inches and that helps a ton.

For exhaust I have a 8in blower, and I have a flippi fan blowing horizontal across the lights. I moved the flourescent up and now the temps stay in the lower 80's. seedlings seem fine but i would rather have temps 78-79

maybe hanging the fixture vertical would let the heat escape better. After all my flower room is vertical

you need an inline fan to suck the hot air out of the tent. Then your temps will drop. I had the same problem and this fixed it.
