Hey guys,

I am wondering should I start counting from the date I flip to 12/12 or thew time they start showing buds?

I realize the magnifier looking at trichromes is definitive, but I need to schedule when I am getting more babies....

Thanks for all your input...bongsmilie

Hi madcatter,

Begin counting from day 1 of 12/12, but bear in mind that when a strain is described as an '8 week' strain for example it can often take a week or so longer to finish! You should see those first pre- flowers (pistils) in around 2 weeks from switching.

Hope this helps.

I'd start from when you see pistils.
he's right u start from the day u see stigmas or pistals.and the reason u have to wait for a week wen u count day for day from 12/12 is the first week of 12/12 supose to show your preflowers that week is wen the pistal are suppose to show.so day 1 from preflowersbongsmilie

start when you changed the photoperiod.

that is when flowering is technically induced.
just because you don't see any pre flowers doesn't mean its not in production mode..

from pistils, like the seed banks say.

I grow Indica's that can finish in 8 weeks from switching and are described as '8 week' strains by the seed company.... so are you saying to me that they actually finish in 43 days (ie: 6 weeks)? Allowing say 14 days to show pre flowers.

Mmm, we're going to have to agree to disagree here I think but lets see how this thread plays out?

ok thanks for the input... think I will just watch closely from 8 weeks of switch with the microscope.... can;t wait to start smoking my own... the white russians sure look tasty and the buds are dripping with resin....
